Wilkin Chapman solicitors put Grimsby on the map in national legal rankings

GRIMSBY, U.K. - Oct. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The Grimsby headquartered legal practice sits just outside the top 100 law firms, and is ranked as 105th in the country - a leap of 6 places from last year’s ranking. Wilkin Chapman is now one of the largest regional firms outside of London.

The Lawyer UK 200 is a well-respected publication within the legal sector and each year undertakes a survey of around 300 UK-based law firms. In the publication’s recent 5 page report, looking at the independent firms in its top 200 rankings, it stated: “Grimsby’s Wilkin Chapman is one to watch. Chief executive, Des Mannion, has embarked on a process of increasing partners’ involvement in management”.

The firm has seen a 10.4% rise in turnover on last year. The recent CEO appointment of Des Mannion, who joined the firm from Grant Thornton in London, has also seen an increased focus on collaboration and cross departmental integration. This has been complemented by an active recruitment drive, resulting in the appointment of lawyers at all levels, including doubling the number of trainee solicitors.

In addition to the UK 200, Wilkin Chapman’s commitment to staff training and development has also been recognised nationally. The solicitors’ practice has won two awards and been voted as one of the top 100 UK law firms to work for by the Lex 100 – the student guide to the UK’s premier law firms 2015/16. The firm is ranked within the top 10 UK law firms for creating a stress-free environment in the ‘stress levels’ category, and being within the top 15 law firms for ‘friendliness’.
