“The WBC and the DSDA have a common goal: To help diverse business owners thrive,” explained Ronald C. Licata, Executive Director of the DSDA. “By combining our resources, the DSDA and WBC will be able to offer even more growth services to diverse-owned businesses, and we create opportunities to serve even more Connecticut businesses.” The October 26 DSDA overview session will provide detailed information on the intense, six-week series of strategy and growth topics offered through the DSDA program to woman- and diverse-business owners. The DSDA and WBC Entrepreneurial Center work side by side with participating diverse business owners to identify new avenues for growth and success, wrapping all the support services they need into one package. “With a large and growing number of women-owned businesses in the country, Connecticut will benefit from even stronger business women,” stated Milena Erwin, WBC Program Manager. “We look forward to having the opportunity to extend our results-oriented services to more women business owners through our partnership with the DSDA.” Diverse business owners interested in learning more about the program are invited to attend the October 26 overview meeting to be held at the WBC in Hartford, CT. The DSDA was launched in 2013 with the active participation of Eversource Energy and funding from its Foundation, the Greater Hartford Chapter of SCORE, and input from several diverse businesses during pilots in 2011.
