Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc.'s A Night to R.E.M.ember deemed a success

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Oct. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- October is here and it brought a chill in the air with it. With winter around the corner, we are getting ready to pull out our warmest coats, boots, and to dress our beds with our coziest blankets. But what about the children who don’t have a warm comforter, or even a bed to sleep in? What will they do when winter hits and they can’t sleep because they are uncomfortable and cold? Local nonprofit organization, Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc., is dedicated to bringing nighttime comfort and warmth, along with sleep education, to children in need. With the generous support the organization received at its most recent fundraiser, more children will go to bed with the knowledge needed to get a good night’s sleep, along with bedtime essentials and a warm, comfortable sleeping bag or blanket instead of just the floor.

On Saturday, Oct. 3, Sweet Dreamzzz™ hosted its 13th annual A Night to R.E.M.ember fundraiser at The Dearborn Inn. The night was grand- the classic elegance of the Dearborn Ballroom with its crystal chandeliers and refined décor was the perfect backdrop for an evening full of kindness, generosity, and support for children in need. Highlights of the event included a large silent auction, a rousing live auction, a humbling call-to-action, a fun game of Heads or Tails, the presentation of the Susan M. Fezzey Award of Excellence to Eagle Scout, Andrew Campbell, a delicious gourmet dinner and a round of dancing to cap off the night, hosted by DJ Elrico Shelton.

Sweet Dreamzzz would once again like to thank all of the event’s sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor, TriMas Corporation, Arrow Strategies, Bosco’s Pizza Company, Design Systems Inc., ARC, BDO USA LLP, Drew Besonson, Ernst & Young LLP, Hirotec America Inc., Huntington Bank, McCarthy & Smith, Inc., The Mulberry Silk Company, Tier One Marketing, Deloitte, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, Rehman Robson and Watch Me Grow Pediatrics.

Supporters of the organization helped raise over $70,000 for Sweet Dreamzzz sleep education programs. Sweet Dreamzzz will be hosting their next R.E.M. (Rest. Educate. Motivate.) Sleep Education Program at WHRC Elementary School in Pontiac on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015.This program will serve 650 at-risk students, grades K-6.
