LeVenity showcases Spring 2016 collection at Style Fashion Week LA Oct 16 @ 8:30p

The Big Win
The 2014 RAWArtist Fashion Designer of the Year national title was presented to Venny Etienne after defeating hundreds of up-and-coming professional designers from America’s top cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and more. As part of the prize package, Etienne will showcase his spring 2016 collection at LA Style Fashion Week this October. This is going to be a huge launch for his brand (LeVenity) and now it’s time for the brand to take its place on the main stage and premier the new collection that everyone has been asking for.
The work didn’t stop there, shortly after his win with RAWArtists, Etienne who has a heart of determination decided not to give up on another highly sought after scholarship competition called the “FGI Scholarship Competition” (the competition, organized by the Fashion Group International of Dallas, was conceived as a way to provide a philanthropic, educational outreach program for college and university students seeking careers in the fashion and lifestyle industries). When his attempts in previous years were unsuccessful, his third attempt was a charm. Taking home not one, but three prizes – a cash scholarship and two grand prizes – the FGI’s Best of Sewing Award resulting in an industrial sewing machine plus, the coveted FGI Paris American Academy Couture Award where he was able study abroad this in Paris on a full scholarship learning Fashion Design and Couture techniques from some of the greatest professors in the couture fashion industry. He is the second Wade College grad to win the highest prize in FGI’s 40-year history. Etienne’s sports bomber jacket and tailored pants, inspired by athletic shoes translated into ready-to-wear concepts, garnered him the top prize in the competition because of his originality and technical expertise.

The Brand
LeVenity is a women’s luxury ready-to-wear sportswear line where architectural lines are at home with Italian sophistication and an American practicality. Etienne born of Haitian descent grew up in Brooklyn, NY and credits most of his creative ability to Milan-based designer and pattern-maker Shingo Sato. Under Shingo Sato,  Etienne learned how to cut a pattern with intense precision and accuracy and has  been able to create garments that you see today in his collections. Some of Etienne accolades include being featured in several publications such as: Krave (featured in their 10th year anniversary issue as one of the best designers in their craft), Platinum Urban, CoSign, Living and Jamrock. He has also dressed celebrities such as Grammy Award winner James Fortune, Keyshia Cole, Meelah from 702 and Laura Govan to name a few. Currently residing in Dallas, TX he travels frequently throughout the year to harness his inspirations. So while the LeVenity brand is still recognizably part of American sportswear, it will always have a sophistication and worldly twist that makes it special.

The Collection
Growing up in the Big Apple certainly has its perks needless to say, as a young boy growing up in New York City exposed him to a wide variety of street style and having a love for sneakers at a young age became a sort of fascination for Etienne. As a child he would collect sneakers and seeing the women pass back and forth on the street and on the subway made him start to think of fashion in a different way. Now he ready to bring his love for sportswear and sneaker to the forefront of his inspiration in his upcoming debut collection for Spring 2016. Not only are his silhouettes one of a kind but seeing his vision come to life through eclectic colors and textures will blow you away.

The Show
LA Style Fashion Week will be the first EVER showcase where LeVenity’s Spring 2016 will be seen. This is going to be a ground breaking experience and we invite you to come and celebrate the launch of the debut collection in Los Angeles, California.
