PHILADELPHIA - Oct. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic (K4-MA), an industry leader and central component of the Keiretsu Forum angel investment network, will be holding its Third Annual East Coast Angel Capital Expo on October 28, 2015 and an Entrepreneur Workshop on Friday, Oct. 23 - Saturday Oct. 24, 2015 at Drexel University. The event is one of the best opportunities for students looking to advance their skills and futures as industry professionals.

The Angel Capital Expo is a bold new opportunity for students in particular, as it affords them the chance to experience realistic boardroom investment presentations with actual angel investors – an infrequent experience for a student that is not likely to be found elsewhere. Throughout the course of the expo, students will be able to absorb the questions and feedback that potential stakeholders of an investment make in a real-world situation, learn more about what potential acquirers are looking for and see how potential trusted advisors operate in the industry itself. Students will also be able to witness a single investment of $100,000 to the Forum Presenter that is voted on by the community as "Most Valued Company" – another infrequent occurrence.

More than anything else, students will be able to get an up-close-and-personal feel for the types of requirements that are necessary to make it as an angel fund emerging growth company. All of these qualities go into making the Angel Capital Expo and Entrepreneur Workshop the actionable opportunity of a lifetime for students all over the country.

The Third Annual Angel Capital Expo will be held at Drexel University in the historic Behrakis Grand Hall in the Creese Student Center in Philadelphia. The event itself runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28. The 2-day Entrepreneur Workshop will be held October 23 from 4:00pm - 6:30pm and October 24, 2015 from 7:30am - 5:30pm. The Entrepreneur Workshop will be held at Drexel University's Close College of Entrepreneurship, Gerri C. Lebow Hall, Room 033 and is open to both students, faculty and staff. It is imperative for students to take advantage of these events as they are not afforded this opportunity on a regular basis.

About Keiretsu Forum

Keiretsu Forum is a global angel investor network with more than 1500 accredited investor members throughout 39 chapters on three continents.  Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic (http://www.KeiretsuForum-MidAtlantic.com) consists of four chapters that function as a single entity – Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Pittsburgh and New York.  Keiretsu is a Japanese term for a group of organizations with interlocking business relationships, and Keiretsu Forum is a group of accredited investors with interlocking investment interests.  Each chapter or region meets monthly to present rigorously screened candidates for investments.  Keiretsu Forum’s mission is “Great Association with Quality Deal Flow.”

The Mid-Atlantic Region presents approximately four deals a month, 50 a year, to its members and accredited investor guests.  Slightly more than 20 percent get funded, which is 10x higher than the industry average.  Approximately 36 funding applications are submitted each month to the K4-MA DealRoom website, www.K4-DealRoom.com and vetted by industry specialists.  About 10 are then vetted by members at monthly screening meetings where they participate in a highly structured presentation-and-feedback-learning session.  Three to four of the screened companies are then invited to present at subsequent monthly Forum meetings.  Entrepreneurs invited to move forward to the Forum meetings must participate in mandatory professional coaching sessions to optimize the delivery of their presentations and also agree to participate in the road show to all four cities in the region, with exposure to approximately 100 investors.  Subsequently, information about their companies is posted on the organization’s online global deal room for reference by all 1500+ members.
