The Knick Season 2 Premiere on October 17 at HBO Defined

CONNAUGHT PLACE, India - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- American drama series, The Knick is back on television with a bang. The Steve Soderbergh direction created by Michael Begler and Jack Amiel resumes with its second season. The television series that stars Clive Owen in the main lead, begins with another instalment on HBO Defined from October 17^th.

The story of this Golden Globe award winning drama throws light on the personal and professional lives of Dr. Thackery (Clive Owen) and the staff of Knickerbocker Hospital located in New York. The plot goes back to the early 20^th century that took off in August 2014 for the first time. Joining the threads, the period medical drama has arrived with a ten-episode long season this time again.

These episodes go back to 1900 while talking about a hospital full of innovative surgeons, staff and nurses who are trying to win over the limitations of existing medical understanding to stop high mortality rates. The tale is about how Dr. Thackery, the leader of surgery, battles with his drug addictions which are in conflict with his medical discovery ambitions and reputation among the peers.

On the other hand, the scenes also include a character sketch of Dr. Edwards (Andre Holland) who deals with the issue of racism in an all-white society. Grappling with many problems, the hospital still manages to attract a huge clientele without compromising on quality healthcare. While struggling for existence in this era of invention, progress and corruption, everybody in the show is searching for a meaningful life.

For those who have not followed the show yet, can start from the first episode featuring the epic performances of Dr. Bertram Chickering Jr. (Michael Angarano), Cornelia Robertson (Juliet Rylance), Herman Barrow (Jeremy Bobb) and Lucy Elkins (Eve Hewson). The lively acts put up by a deceptive, greedy administrator, a trustee member of the hospital board and a naive nurse also add to the cast ensemble.

Set in the backdrop of times when people dreaded visiting a hospital, the script portrays how a bunch of people related to the medical field are trying to maintain the reputation of the institution run by them while offering quality healthcare to the society. The show is set to hit the television ratings with Owen uttering the words, ‘Things have changed but the show must go on.’‘ I want to make history.’

Establish a connection from the last episode, Crutchfield from the first season. The show is on after drugs start catching up with Thackery as he is looking for a solution related to the human blood properties.  The Saturday premiere of The Knick this month is to answer all questions. Will Dr. Edwards be successful as the first chief surgeon of the African-American descent? Would Lucy choose Dr. Bertram over Dr. Thackery? Will the emotionally tortured but brilliant Thackery step down for all good reasons?
