Follow on Google News | Perfect Strangers Wins at Glasgow's Southside Film FestivalBy: Magic Monkey Films BAFTA Nominated Director Ryan Hendrick said, “It’s been a busy year for Perfect Strangers from Cannes to travelling the globe and coming home to win the audience award is incredibly gratifying.” In its 5th year, the Southside Film Festival had a diverse line up of short films as it is committed to supporting local culture and filmmaking talent. BAFTA Award Winning Producer David Newman said, “ It’s a real honour to win the festivals audience award, having people watch and enjoy the film is great, but having the audience vote you as their favourite is even better!” Perfect Strangers tells the story of two people stranded in the Scottish Highlands on Christmas eve that team up to try and get home in time for Christmas. It was shot on the beautiful Rannoch Moors in Glencoe over 5 days last winter. The film stars acclaimed up and coming Scottish actors Kenny Boyle and Clare Sheerin. The 26 minute comedy also features music from renowned singer songwriter Jack Henderson’s new album The Darling Light. Perfect Strangers may have come full circle but its world tour is far from over. The film is now heading to Australia as part of the official selection for the Dragon Dreaming Festival later this month. The filmmakers are current planning future Scotland based screenings.
