Q-KON supports skills development to boost its level of expertise

CENTURION, South Africa - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Riaan Roux, Systems Engineer at Q-KON Africa has just completed a course involving every aspect of installing, implementing and developing VSAT networks with The Global VSAT Forum (GVF). The GVF represents the satellite communications industry regulatory meetings, events, conferences and symposia globally.

“The Forum has an extensive range of training courses with each one representing a level of knowledge and expertise that is specialized in a unique field in the VSAT industry,” says Roux.

“In my position at Q-KON I have to be able to train and certify the Company’s partners according to industry standards which strengthen its position in the industry; these partners are able to grow their capabilities,” he adds.

Dr Dawie de Wet, CEO of Q-KON Africa says the Company supports personnel who are interested in developing their skills. “We encourage our highly skilled experts to do additional training courses, because it shows their dedication, commitment and willingness to strengthen their positions in the company and grow their capabilities,” he continues.

Being able to train and certify the Company’s partners enable them to lay the correct foundation with people who will ensure that the industry standards are kept as high as possible,” Dr de Wet adds.

Roux explains that the subjects of the online training course cover all the elements required for a VSAT installation – from the basics to the final check points to sign off of an installation.

The GVF was launched in 1998 in Rome and since then, it has become the single and unified voice of the global satellite communications industry.  It brings together organizations engaged in the delivery of advanced broadband and narrowband satellite services to consumers in the commercial and government enterprises worldwide.

“The GVF promotes the global satellite communications industry and through this forum we are able to connect and network with leading role players in the satellite communication industry. It forms a single point of contact for any supplier to the industry; including any users of satellite communications equipment of services,” continues Roux.

He concludes that Q-KON Africa is now able to host training sessions for partners and customers at their head office in Centurion,Gauteng.
