Opening this week at Lockside Art Center!

LOCKPORT, N.Y. - Oct. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Opening this Saturday October 17^th, Lockside Art Center and The Niagara Arts Guild are partnering up for an amazing exhibition at the art center celebrating the arts of the Niagara Area. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the opening reception at 2pm on Saturday where you can enjoy refreshments, an early look at the exhibition, and plenty of great conversation with the artists!

This exhibition will feature art from members of the Niagara Arts Guild. In 1948, Western New York artists created an organization for support and education, the Niagara Arts Guild. Today the Guild continues to provide shows; art demonstrations by experts in various art media, including the business of art; and regular meetings for its members and visitors. In its 67^th year, the Niagara Arts Guild announces the Fall Members’ Exhibition at the Lockside Art Center under the direction of Show chairman, Brady Zdrojewski. The show is juried, and a Viewer’s Choice Award given at the opening. Fine art, photography, and sculpture are all featured at the show in Suite 208, accessible to all via elevator from the Erie Canal side of Lockside. The show continues through Thanksgiving weekend.

The goal of the Niagara Arts Guild is to bring artists of all media types together to meet, network and inspire. The Guild meets on the third Friday of each month from September through June at 7 PM in Room 127B, the Dale Association, 33 Ontario Street, Lockport. All artists are welcome, as well as art-lovers. Member artists are not limited to painting (watercolor, pastels, oils, acrylics, gouache, tempera) but include photography, print media, graphic writing, sculpture, wood carving, textile art, and many other visual arts. Lockside Art Center is an intimate art center located in downtown Lockport, NY, overlooking the Erie Canal at the Flight of Five Locks, walking distance to restaurants and tourist attractions. We provide a display gallery, studios, art research library, and a classroom. The exhibition continues through November 28 (take down). The center is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday noon‑4pm and by appointment. We welcome appointments.
