The award-winning morning show The Balancing Act® will feature Honeywell Hometown Solutions and its partner, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the “Be the Change” series on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime® to focus on the KidSmartz™ program that helps protect our nation’s children. An encore presentation of the show will air on Oct. 19, 2015.

The“Be the Change” series highlights how corporate America is empowering people to build better lives.Join host Julie Moran as she leads this vital discussion with tips and strategies on making your children safer and stopping child abductions before they happen.

According to FBI statistics, more than 460,000 reports of missing children were made to law enforcement in the United States last year. Special guests Kerry Kennedy from Honeywell Hometown Solutions and Callahan Walsh of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® join the show to share how their joint initiative KidSmartz helps prevent abduction with personal safety lessons for educators, parents, other trusted adults and kids.

Viewers will learn the “Four Rules of Safety” that are the basis of KidSmartz:

• Check First
• Take a Friend
• Tell People “No”
• Tell a Trusted Adult

Kennedy and Walsh will also share details on other KidSmartz resources that empower children in grades K-5 to be safer from abduction, like classroom activities, role-playing, animated videos, and a “Safety Dance” song and dance.
