TVS, The All American Network, To Produce Classic Basketball Game Recreations for TVS Home Video

TVS Television Network, which produced more than 1,500 basketball games for broadcast TV from 1960-85, is back in the basketball TV business with a twist. TVS will produce recreations of six historic basketball games from the NAIA, AAU, NABL and ABL
 
CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. - Oct. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- TVS, The All American Network, will produce recreations of six historic basketball games from the NAIA, ABL, AAU, and NABL for viewing on TVS Video Techniques PPV and TVS Home Video.

The six games include the famous "Secret Game" between Duke and North Carolina Central in the 1940's;  the "First Battle of the Seven Footers" , a 1946 game between Dakota Wesleyan and New Mexico School of Mines; "The 12 Foot Baskets", another 1946 game, between New Mexico Mines and Drury College; "The 1962 ABL Championship Game" between the Cleveland Pipers and the Kansas City Steers; "The Rivalry", a 1960 NABL  game between the Akron Wingfoots and the Phillips 66ers; and '"The Showdown", a 1947 NABL game between the Jackie Robinson led Los Angeles Red Devils and the Oshkosh All Stars.

All six of the telecasts will be set in the era of the game, but will be 'covered' by the TVS Cameras, complete with announcrs, replay, and in game interviews.  TVS will cast  non collegiate players on the teams.

"Obviously, we are taking a lot of license to recreate these games," explained TVS CEO Tom Ficara, currently celebrating his 25th year as CEO of TVS. "But we are working with the various organizations to get the uniforms right, to get the players properly cast, and to try to make the games look as authentic as possible."

Shooting begins on the six shows in April, 2016, and should take 2-3 months to complete. The series will be released along with a series of 26 "TVS Classic Basketball" series, which will include actual TVS coverage of great games that appeared on the TVS Television Network from 1960-85.
