Follow on Google News | Worldwide Laser Institute Offers Global CurriculumBy: Worldwide Laser Institute The institute, founded to fill a need in medical education, provides medical professionals of various backgrounds, levels of knowledge, and experience with objective, scientific, and non-biased training for lasers and other esthetic procedures. The program trains healthcare professionals from around the globe using an online learning management system, as well as live courses. An eight-hour introductory course and a 40-hour comprehensive training are offered. Additionally, training on the proper administration of injectables, toxins, radiofrequency (RF) and other energy-based devices, microneedling, and skin care are offered to help vary esthetics practitioners’ Courses offered include Introduction to Lasers, Hands On, and Course III+. The introductory course is eight hours in duration and is tailored to beginners and those with some laser experience. The topics covered in this course include skin anatomy, skin types, laser physics, laser safety, various clinical lasers, and laser complications. This course is a pre-requisite for the Hands-On course and a Certificate of Attendance is offered. The Hands-On course offers students the opportunity to observe and use hair removal lasers, vascular lasers, tattoo removal lasers, and lasers for pigmented lesions. Course III+ offers 32 hours of didactic and practical lessons, as well as eight hours of Basic Life Support (BLS) content. The institute is led by Dr. Martin Kassir, MD, FAAD, a double board certified dermatologist and internist who has presented lectures on lasers and aesthetic devices to dermatologists, plastic surgeons, physicians, and other health care professionals on six continents and in over 35 countries. Just a few of Dr. Kassir’s accomplishments include leadership and mentoring positions with the International Society of Dermatology, and development of an anti-aging cream that grossed over $15 million in sales in five different countries in its first year.
