Oct. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Looking to start a new business or a new career path? A franchise business opportunity might be the right choice.

Interested entrepreneurs can learn more about the ins and outs of the franchise business world and hear from several premier franchise companies growing in Michigan by attending a free event – the Michigan Franchise Forum (http://www.michiganfranchiseforum.com/) – Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3-5:30 p.m. at The Community House, 380 S. Bates, Birmingham. The event is presented by FranNet of Michigan. (http://www.frannet.com/)

Entrepreneurship is on the rise in Michigan and across the country, according to Mark Cory, Michigan Franchise Forum organizer. “As the economy continues to improve, so do opportunities for individuals, couples and small groups to own and operate their own businesses. Buying a franchise in an established, respected brand is one way to achieve one’s personal and financial goals,” he said.

Franchising, Cory added, has become a huge force in both the local and national economies, with 3,000 different U.S. franchise companies in operation in more than 300 different business categories, and contributing $1.5 trillion in overall economic output. With the improving economy, banks and other financial institutions have become eager to lend to more persons who want to purchase and run a franchise.

Program Highlights

Program highlights of the Michigan Franchise Forum include an introduction to the world of franchising, understanding due diligence and selection, the “state of franchising” in Michigan, presentations by attending franchisors, tips on funding, and opportunities to meet one-on-one with the experts and franchise representatives.

Presentations will be made for several franchise areas: food, retail, professional and business services, automotive aftermarket, spa services, home and office décor, residential/commercial building services, and more. Some of the concepts presented can be home-based or operated semi-absentee.

Registration is required to attend the Michigan Franchise Forum. To reserve a place, register at www.MichiganFranchiseForum.com or phone (313) 821-5060.

Past Michigan Franchise Forum attendees and FranNet of Michigan clients, now franchise owners, share their experiences:

“If I had to do it all over again, buying this business, I certainly would. The FranNet experience was very intrusive, but in a positive way, bringing up questions and issues that hadn’t occurred to me. With my time and money at stake, that level of detail has proved to be an important key to my business success.”

- Chaundra Haynes, Battery Giant, Detroit (celebrating one year in business this month)

“As the economy turned around, we’ve been more successful than we first anticipated. The business allows for more flexibility and freedom for us and our family. Working to choose a business through FranNet was an excellent experience, and they have been great partners supporting our business venture.”

- Christine Raymond, Express Employment Professionals, Roseville (owner since 2007)

“I’ve been very happy with my decision to buy a franchise. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak, and this has been the second business I’ve owned since leaving the corporate world. I attended the first Michigan Franchise Forum in 2008, and since that time, I’ve had a great business relationship with FranNet.”

-Wes Thompson, Expense Reduction Analysts of Michigan

“Two of the advantages I’ve enjoyed in owning and operating our business is being able to help people with their individual needs, and running our stores at reasonable opening and closing hours. FranNet provided me a very good list of potential franchisors that matched our interests.”

- Don Evans, Zounds Hearing, Plymouth and Novi (in business since 2013)

“The coaching that I received from FranNet was extremely helpful, and helped me narrow down my options to find the right choice for my encore career.”

- Tom Arcobello, ComForCare Senior Services, Clarkston
