Summer’s a Quiet Time for the Print Industry, Right?

Oct. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- It’s a well known business fact within the trade that the summer months for the print industry have been traditionally the quietest period of the year.  Usually the months of July and August is the time when print companies tend to 'tie up loose ends' and start thinking about how to tackle the coming year.  The reason behind this reality is quite simple; many organisations and businesses, who provide the bulk of the custom for the print management companies, run with a skeleton staff who keep things ‘ticking over’ whilst the rest of the team take their annual summer holiday.  Also schools and colleges are closed for the majority of the summer period and therefore do not require print services during those months.

The mould was broken this summer with Bedfordshire-based Print Management Company ‘Ink Print Solutions’ having an extraordinary heavy workload thanks to digital terrestrial television service Freeview.

Director of Ink Print Solutions, Mr Dean Phillips, said “Once in a while you get a project which really pushes you to your limits.  This summer Ink Print Solutions took on a very large project from one of its regular customers, Freeview, who required a total rebrand.

“As well as providing consultancy services (materials and mock ups) prior to producing all of the new re-brand Point of Sale, Ink also worked on an extensive list of merchandise for the new brand.  The list of materials & processes used on the POS was extensive: 15 different products using materials like silk & gloss papers, display board, foamex & foam core boards, & 'Edge lit' acrylic, across Litho, digital and screen printing. All die cut, laminated and Spot UV’d.  We literally worked flat out to make sure we delivered the project on time”.

The list of merchandise that Freeview wanted produced was vast, even more diverse and required a huge amount of production resources. The items included mini umbrellas & golf umbrellas, USB's memory sticks, lanyards, etched glasses and glass bottles, several types of pen, boiled sweets, various types of clothing, notebooks, iPad covers, mugs, tote bags & mouse mats, all printed using various methods, and all matching colour wise using various processes like embroidery, dye sublimation, etching, screen & pad printing and transfers.  Ink Print Solutions got on with the task in-hand, taking the bull by the horns and delivered on time, really pushing themselves to the limit.

If you’re looking for a reputable, reliable company to manage your re-brand or to create a new brand for your business, then Ink Print Solutions would be happy to hear from you.  The company offers the full range of print management services, from initial graphic design concepts right through to the finished products.
