Core Edge Develops Systematic Workforce Education

Plans to Revise Case Method Pioneered by Harvard Business School
By: Core Edge

ATLANTA - Oct. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Core Edge Image & Charisma Institute (Core Edge), an American education company, has identified three areas key to bridging the skills gap in the workforce that will allow it to carve out a special niche within workforce development. The first of these is to restructure critical thinking models used in law and business schools to fit the needs of average employees for greater corporate productivity. This response addresses the escalating cost for college and graduate school tuitions. By developing graduate level curriculum, employees will become smarter at a lower cost.

Core Edge also wants to utilize online courses and satellite offices to serve as “Finishing Schools” for academic and non-academic students who want to become certified as problem solvers and decision makers on their job applications and resumes. The third goal is to partner with college career services and corporate training departments to create “Micro Colleges.” Creating micro colleges would allow for the academic heft found in traditional colleges, but applied to the practical needs of organizations. As an example, Core Edge intends to revamp the Case Method, pioneered by Harvard Business School, to make it more systematic by infusing Core Edge’s IBAR Critical Thinking Method. The biggest criticism about Harvard’s Case Method being that any problem solving or decision making process must have an anchor. For Core Edge, the anchor is the best practices of organizational development and previous corporate success.“Core Edge plans to invest extensively in research and development in creating systematic critical thinking and decision making curriculum for new and existing corporate employees,” said Director Edward Brown.

Core Edge’s business model rests in discovering and modifying established advanced thinking methods to make them more user friendly and accessible to average employees. Brown says, "Our efforts are aligned with our crusade to create a modern day ‘Age of Reason.’ Countless studies and surveys point to the lack of intellectualism and decision making skills currently in the workforce. In a fast paced economic environment, new curriculum has to be short, systematic, and allow for creativity within that system. To spend a semester learning the philosophy of critical thinking and decision making without a system supporting it is a waste of time and resources.”
