Juengel Agency celebrates first year anniversary

Having met Arlen Sullivan co-owner of Asheville Signarama through a Chamber event, Matt asked if they could do their sign. “They were very professional and met our urgent needs for our sign. We installed the sign exactly where the older sign from a previous tenant had been.  A few months later, when the city inspected they told us it had to be moved, we simply called Arlene and they came straight out and moved it to ensure it met the city’s requirement. Now that’s customer service.”

Growing up in Dayton Ohio, Matt at 16 began to work at a local grocery store. “It was here I learnt how to work and to understand what customer service was all about. After college I was offered the opportunity to work in Florida leasing storage condominiums.  After two years the owner moved to Florida to take over, and suggested I would do well in insurance.”

Matt took this advice and began to work for State Farm agent Rich Mathews in Estero, Florida. “We were ranked 2^nd  in Florida for new auto insurance sales and 13^th in the country so our production was high, but I never thought of myself as a salesperson.  I always clung to my customer service background.  Rich, the agent, has become one of my most trusted mentors to this day.”

With a desire to own his own agency Matt & his wife Emily investigated the various insurance models - especially liking the ability to serve their clients through the independent agency model.  “The Independent Agency model enables us to focus on the needs of the client, enabling us to serve them in ways that a captive insurance company cannot.  We can shop multiple companies to find our clients the best coverage and best rates.”

Moving to Asheville, Matt & Emily launched their agency. Their founding principle ‘is to always keep their clients’ best interests first and always provide superior customer service.  This mission has enabled them to not only launch a successful business, but has enabled them to give back to the community in ways most firms do not even consider.

“The law of reciprocity is always in effect, and keeping this in mind we have launched various initiatives.  We want to use our resources and contacts to give back whenever possible.  We even give away pizza’s through Facebook every Friday.”  They’ve also supported various other local agencies and organizations around Western North Carolina.
