By: JDA Group LLC Located at 50 Harrison Street and owned and managed by JDA Group LLC (JDA), HBC features offices ranging from 150-square-foot private workspaces to 1,000- to 3,500-square- Headquartered in Hoboken, JDA and its companies are a privately-held, full-service commercial and residential development firm founded by Joseph Dell’Aquila in the early 1980s. Dell’Aquila developed and built the Hoboken Business Center in 2003, with a vision that the underutilized property – part of a designated redevelopment zone – would draw new businesses to the city. The building has thrived in the ensuing years, maintaining virtually 100% percent occupancy and becoming a pillar in its neighborhood. Now under the leadership of Joseph’s son Greg, JDA is dedicated to investing in the facility’s future as a valued resource for the city. “My father’s vision is as vital today as it was 12 years ago,” said Greg Dell’Aquila, president. “These upgrades are indicative of our ongoing commitment to providing a first-class environment that supports our long-time tenants and attracts new entrepreneurs and business owners.” Poskanzer Skott Architects (http://poskanzerskott.com/ “We saw in Hoboken Business Center an ideal opportunity to rebrand an older building with a light, bright environment that will appeal to a new generation of office space users,” said Barry Poskanzer, AIA. “Lobbies and public spaces are the first thing visitors notice. Updating these areas with contemporary colors and materials can make all the difference when it comes to winning – and keeping – tenants.” PSA worked with the Dell’Aquilas to develop a sophisticated color palette of black, grey and white, accented with dramatic punches of bold color. Lighting will be upgraded throughout the common areas, and architectural elements like metal grids will be used on ceilings and walls to create focal points. Public restrooms will also be refreshed with new tile, cabinets and countertops. Dell’Aquila noted that JDA is planning future improvements to outdoor areas as well as a possible building expansion. HBC is fully wired and offers tenant amenities including onsite parking, meeting and conference rooms, and kitchen areas in each office. Located just across the Hudson River from Manhattan, the building is convenient to public transportation including the NJ Transit Light Rail, bus, ferry, and PATH trains.
