McCarthy Building Companies Names Jorge Laris as New Project Director for Civil Team

HOUSTON - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., a Texas builder for 36 years, recently appointed Jorge Laris as project director for McCarthy’s transportation business in Houston. In his new position, Laris will be working with McCarthy’s heavy civil team to pursue and manage hard bid and design-build transportation projects throughout the Houston and South Texas markets.

Prior to joining the McCarthy team, Laris spent 14 years at Zachry Construction in Houston with roles ranging from area manager to senior vice president. His duties included providing successful oversight in the development, estimating and construction operations of projects throughout the Texas Gulf Coast Region. Laris also worked for both public and private owners with the majority of his efforts focused on Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) projects and design-build and hard bid projects. His most recent role was providing oversight to the Grand Parkway SH-99 design-build project in Houston.

Laris graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and went on to receive a master’s degree from Texas A&M University. He brings with him many strong relationships with TxDOT staff, private clients and individuals throughout the subcontracting and craft professional community. Laris currently resides in Katy, Texas.
