3 Strands Global Break Free Education curriculum approved by NEST

Oct. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- October 5, 2015 National Educators to Stop Trafficking (http://www.nesteducators.org/) (NEST) is pleased to announce that the Break Free curriculum, a program of 3Strands Global, has been approved for inclusion on the curriculum comparison chart for educators. NEST is a comprehensive clearinghouse that serves to empower and equip educators by providing youth-focused prevention resources to those committed to eliminating sex trafficking in their communities. We believe that if we work together to teach every youth about the realities and dangers of human trafficking, we can end the devastating cycle of supply of demand for trafficked victims.

3Strands Break Free Education

The mission of 3Strands is to combat human trafficking through sustainable employment, education and engagement initiatives. Their goal is to empower a worldwide community to combat human trafficking. 3Strands growing community of individuals, organizations, corporations and non-profits work together to share and collaborate toward the common vision of a world free from human trafficking. Human trafficking is not okay. To combat human trafficking, 3Strands Break Free Education provides human trafficking awareness programs to high schools, colleges, communities, corporations, community and faith-based organizations across the U.S. to increase awareness and prevention efforts.

Break Free Education in the Classroom

Break Free Education raises awareness about human trafficking and offers a free, onsite education program designed to help students understand and recognize human trafficking and thereby create a generation less susceptible to victimization. It is important to relay the message to teens and young adults about how to prevent becoming a victim of human trafficking. Break Free believes the need to talk about this issue because it is real and happening right here in our communities. Break Free Education offers a human trafficking awareness event, at no cost, designed to educate middle school, high school and college students.

Story of the Red Seed

Every 3Strands product features a red bead or seed from the Sandalwood tree, native to Cambodia. Sandalwood trees produce colorless pods that eventually dry up and fall to the ground. But inside these dried pods are beautiful, glossy, red seeds. To 3Strands, these seeds represent the beauty in each of the survivors who have been freed from human trafficking and those waiting to be rescued. A vision of one red seed or representative red bead on every 3Strands product reminds us of the beauty within every child.
