SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Oct. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Redefine beach culture with a variety of locally grown events taking place in the Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey Shore. The next few weeks are exciting and it all starts Columbus Day Weekend with one of a kind events taking you past Halloween.

COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND:

Columbus Day Weekend brings a long time tradition with the 18 Mile Commemorative Run coming this weekend. Come out on Saturday for the Spaghetti Dinner with the whole family, and stay for the big finale of the drawing of the 2015 Car Raffle. Spaghetti Dinner tickets are available in advance or at the door. Event runs from 5 to 8PM.  The 43rd Annual run will start at 1030am on Sunday October 11.. Registration and race packet pickup will be held from 2 to 7pm on Saturday October 10 with registration and dressing Sunday from 7 to 930AM. For more info go to www.stfranciscenterlbi.org

Pine Barrens Jamboree is at Wells Mills Park in Waretown beginning at 11am through 4pm, this free event celebrates 21 years of live down home music, food and crafts.

Catch The Jetty Clam Jam, bringing the Long Beach Island Surf Community together since 2007.  It is a team-oriented surf contest where surfers compete through an NCAA bracket style event. This event is scheduled for weekend of October 10 and 11th and welcomes all beach goers to come out with their families and dogs to watch a great exhibition of surfing as well as enjoy the food and merchandise provided by local business sponsors. http://jettylife.com/2015/08/30/9th-annual-clam-jam/

For more salted experiences, try your skill at one of the longest running surf fishing tournaments on the east coast, the 61rst Annual LBI Surf Fishing Classic welcomes all sports men, women and children to register at participating bait and tackle shops. Daily, weekly and special prizes for Striped Bass and Blue Fish through December 4th.  http://www.lbift.com/

HAUNTED & HAPPY FALL HAPPENINGS:

Lighthouse Challenge Visit LBI Region historic lighthouses  at Tuckerton Seaport and Barnegat Lighthouse State Park while exploring all of New Jersey’s lighthouses and related museums during this weekend of fun and raising funds for continued preservation, education and restoration of these historic structures. http://www.lighthousechallengenj.org/

Spark the imagination with the spirited surrounding of the Pine Barrens with two family friendly events, Tuckerton Seaport’s Haunted Seaport promises three spooky nights filled with creatures from the deep, pirates, and sea witches on October 22, 23 & 24 from 6 to 9pm.  For info www.tuckertonseaport.org

On October 23 & 24 the Citta Scout Reservation turns into Operation Halloween with the apocalyptic Zombie Outbreak presented by Southern Ocean Rotary benefitting local organizations including Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts. Trails take you through haunted woods filled with zombies ready to attack for their night feeding.   Both events feature hayrides and pumpkin patches so every age can enjoy. Trunk or Treat Friday October 30th from 6pm-8pm, SCPD & Surf City Volunteer Fire Company to put on first ever Trunk-or-Treat event! This is a free, safe alternative to traditional trick or treating, and will surely be a fun-filled evening for the kids at Surf City Fire Station for more info call 609 494 8121

November 7 is Jersey Devil Night at Albert Music Hall doors open at 6pm, with great music and Pickin Shed Jam. Full night of live performances Adults $5 Children $1.   www.alberthall.org
