Dugger Returns to Kansas Speedway with Tanda Racing!

OWASSO, Okla. - Oct. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- This past May, shortly after Talladega, team Tanda Racing and Dugger got together for a short conversation regarding the next event. “Considering the proximity to our hometown, Kansas Speedway was an obvious choice for us all,” said Dugger. Tanda Racing has a primary focus, Promoting Youth in Motorsports. The kart racing team based in Norman Oklahoma has six young drivers ranging in age from 5 to 13. “The future of Motorsports, whether it be in NASCAR or F1, is in the talent and support of these kids,” said Trei Smith, owner of Tanda Racing.

“Our partnership with DGM Racing in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is an obvious step for our drivers. We want to keep this door open so the development of these kids doesn’t stop after karting. Russ brings us the experience and knowledge of not only racing, but industry insight as well,” said Smith.

There’s no denying this threesome of Dugger, Tanda Racing and DGM Racing is a potent combination. With a rocky start in Daytona, the team ironed out those issues and came to Talladega three months later with a vengeance. Dugger went to the top of the speed charts early in practice and at the end of the day, had a career best 5^th place finish.

Now, with a Tanda Racing owned Ilmor Racing engine and another DGM Racing/Mario Gosselin owned and prepared Chevrolet…they will set their sights on another top 5 run. “The 1.5mile tracks are completely different in almost every aspect. The team and I have to rely on the chemistry we have to get the car to turn through the center and drive hard off the corners. Momentum is key,” said Dugger.

Russ’ last appearance at Kansas Speedway was in 2012 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Where after qualifying 19^th, he was involved in an early crash that ended his day. “Since that race, I’ve been itching to get back to Kansas for many reasons. We were there in the ARCA car in 2010 and ran in the top 10 most of the race. I expect the same this time around as well,” said Dugger. There’s certainly no doubt he’s capable and with his entire family present he’ll have plenty of support!

Family won’t be the only supporters there for Dugger. Several marketing partners from Daytona and Talladega will also be on-board the Tanda Racing Chevrolet. Having just returned from a test session at Kansas Speedway, Dugger is serious about driving fast. “His first lap out there, in three years, in a new car…he drove it deeper than I would have into turn one. I can tell he’s on a mission here and we’re excited about being a part of it,” said Gosselin/DGM Racing owner.  “The test went really, really well. Car feels good and I’m anxious to get back in the seat,” said Dugger.
