If you are working out regularly, you may need to increase your water intake to compensate for the water loss during exercise. Perspiration and breathing rates are increased during work-outs and can cause the body to become hydrated if water is not consumed. The last thing you want is for your body to register that you are hydrated and send the metabolism into conservation mode. This can cause bloating, muscle fatigue and even headaches. Get Plenty of Rest Sleep experts agree that those who get less than six hours of sleep on a regular basis have a tendency to become overweight. Those who get a restful seven to eight hours of sleep each night are more fit and have a highly effective metabolism, barring they are eating right and getting enough exercise.
