"Seeking Valentina?" Find her at Delhi Shorts International Film Festival, on November 1, 2015

DELHI, India - Oct. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Armin Nasseri wants to change the way U.S. audiences see ethnic minorities in the U.S., and it seems Delhi Shorts International Film Festival applauds Nasseri’s efforts.  Nasseri’s psychological thriller short is an Official Selection of their 4^th annual film festival.  Seeking Valentina, written and directed by Armin Nasseri, follows Benjamin (played by Ali Bavarian), an Iranian-American writer, in the pangs of grief. When Benjamin takes in a whimsical and an engaging tenant and she mysteriously disappears, it is for the audience to decide is she a ghost, a hallucination, a dream or a runaway.

Nasseri vigorously resisted stereotyping throughout his production, and cast many actors against type, including renown Indian actor Srinivasa Kapavarapu.  Srinivasa Kapavarapu grew up in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, in South India. Once a civil engineer, he took coaching in acting at Madhu Film Institute, Hyderabad and acted in TV (in the Telugu language). He moved to US in the year 2000. After working as software engineer for 7 years he quit his job and landed in Hollywood. He graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Acting and was a classmate of Director Armin Nasseri.

Kapavarapu has worked on TV shows such as "Raising Hope" on Fox, "Murder in First" on TNT, "After Lately" with Chelsea Handler on E network and the NBC sitcom "Outsourced" with award winning directors like Ken Kwapis and Victor Nelli Jr. As an actor he is “proud to be part of this short film ‘Seeking Valentina’.”  Kapavarapu plays a compelling supporting role in Seeking Valentina, as Dr. Lodi,  Benjamin’s psychiatrist.

Seeking Valentina has already garnered international attention for its excellent casting, compelling themes and unique storytelling structure.  Seeking Valentina makes its Asian premiere at Delhi Shorts International Film Festival on November 1, 2015.  Nasseri says “I am honored that my Asian premiere is at Delhi Shorts International.  It’s honor to be selected and I am thrilled that my film showcases Srinivasa and the other talented actors in my cast.”

The 4th Delhi Shorts International Film Festival-2015 is meant to grow many folds. The inaugural year 2012 was a big success followed by super successful 2013 & 14 editionS & enjoys the credibility of one of the most trusted short film festival of India. The festival was not only embraced by the short filmmaker’s but regarded by the media & industry members also.
