Kosbe And Holston International Training And Consulting Team-up To Help Women Defend Themselves

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Oct. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- The Small Business Development Center ETSU – Kingsport Affiliate will host Corporate & Workplace Violence Prevention for Women Business Owners, Female Executives & Employees on Friday, October 23, 8 AM-2 PM, at your Kingsport Chamber of Commerce.  The training is co-sponsored by the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship (KOSBE), yourKingsport Chamber of Commerce, and Holston International Training & Consulting.

The training is open to all women; women business owners, female executives, and female employees. A.L.E.R.T. is a self-defense course designed specifically for women.  Learn the basic skills necessary to protect yourself, your employees and co-workers! Professional women and women business owners should always be prepared with the proper safety mindset and skills to make themselves a harder target!  Hands-on tactics will be used to demonstrate the common physical attacks. The session will also include the opportunity for all participants to ask the “what-if” questions.

Counter-terrorism instructor, John Rose, President of Holston International Training and Consulting LLC, actively served in law enforcement for over 18 years in positions ranging from Patrol Officer, SWAT Operator, and Department Training Lieutenant. His last rank held was that of Division Major with a large sheriff’s office in TN.  He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy session 197 and holds numerous certifications in disciplines to include but not limited to patrol tactics, defensive tactics, firearms, and K-9.  John was the lead instructor for the course Patrol Response to Active Shooter Situations taught at the regional police academy where he was an instructor from 2003 to 2010. He has lectured extensively on the topics of Surviving Active Shooter Situations, Workplace Violence Prevention, Leadership, Ethics, and Counter Terrorism.  John has customized H.I.T.A.C.’s training program on Workplace Violence Prevention specific to the corporate world, health care, and higher education audiences.
