By: ProEx Physical Therapy During the conference, to be held November 11-14 in Orlando, Barron will address the increase in expenses and the decline in reimbursements experienced by many private physical therapy practices. “Physical therapists often see their role as being 100% focused on patient care, without much thought to the financial implications of care,” said Barron, who oversees ProEx’s new Collectivity division, one established to help other physical therapy practices by offering a personalized approach to billing and collecting. Barron’s presentation will focus on the role of the physical therapy practice in driving revenue, how to train PTs to appreciate this role and the impact this training may have on the practice. The Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association was created to focus on the needs of physical therapists who own their own practices or who work in private practice settings.
