CLEVELAND - Oct. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) announces that Harry Boomer, Cleveland 19 News Anchor/Journalist and 2007 Ohio Broadcasters Hall of Fame Inductee will serve as Master of Ceremony for its “Giving Hope Beyond Our Borders” Awards and Fundraising Dinner on October 30, 2015 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Harry, who currently serves as the President of The Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists (GCABJ), has nearly 45 years of experience in news and broadcasting and has won numerous industry awards.

“We are thrilled that Harry will be a part of our wonderful affair where Cleveland’s finest will join forces to raise funds for the purpose of bringing hope and the promise of a brighter future to children living in abject poverty and despair in Liberia, West Africa,” said Rufus Darkortey, President of LEDI. “Harry is a global thinker and class act and we thank him for raising awareness about the LEDI-Leann Peiffer Scholar Fund and our public library construction project.

"I am honored to serve as Master of Ceremony for this important event" said Boomer. "LEDI’s mission of youth scholarship, literacy and economic empowerment is one that everyone should rally behind and support and I'm thrilled to be a part of it," he added.

The awards and fundraising dinner will take place Friday, October 30, 2015 at The Club at Key Center, 127 Public Square, Cleveland, OH 44114. The event will kick off with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by a dinner, awards ceremony and dessert reception.
