HRS launches corporate app to business travelers

RAFFLES PLACE, Singapore - Oct. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- The HRS Corporate App offers features such as the hotel search based on pre-set corporate locations, maps, as well as displaying the negotiated corporate rates and their availability at the selected hotel.

Meanwhile for payment, all company-specific options are available, including pre-defined payment and billing methods up to departmental level. What’s more, hotel bookings may be entered into the mobile device calendar directly.

As a result, there are numerous benefits for travel managers: mobile bookings are fully recorded meaning there are no surprises when it comes to receiving invoices.

The pre-entered billing addresses increase user convenience, and therefore reduces the administrative effort. This in turn has a positive effect on the business traveller’s satisfaction and helps to increase compliance to a company’s hotel programme.

As an additional bookable rate, the Mobile Special Tariff may decrease direct costs. Hotels specifically use this tariff to market remaining rooms to business travellers and last-minute bookers.

HRS has recorded a continuous and strong growth in bookings made using smartphones and tablets globally. Compared to the first six months of 2014, HRS found that mobile bookings had increased by almost one quarter in the second half of the year.

The percentage of total turnover generated by mobile bookings also showed significant growth in comparison to the previous year, with HRS reporting that one in five overnight stays is now booked via a smartphone or tablet.

“Mobile channels are a great help, especially on business trips, because last-minute changes to the schedule often call for new travel planning to take place,” explained Todd Arthur, Managing Director of HRS Singapore.

“With the HRS Corporate App featuring pre-stored information and specific corporate rates of importance for the business traveller, we make mobile bookings a lot easier for our customers.”

HRS attributes the growth to special booking conditions, such as the Mobile Special Tariff, which offers users of smartphones and tablets considerable price savings. They are exclusively bookable via the HRS Apps - last year, these bookings doubled in volume.
