Catholic Charities of West Tennessee Launches Online Storefront

 
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Oct. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Expanding upon its efforts to develop social enterprises, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCCWTN) officially launched its online portal today, selling products which were created, produced, packaged, sold and fulfilled by its clients and volunteers.  Found at www.ccwtn.org/se, consumers may choose items from the St. Bernard’s line of 100% natural dog treats, bow ties and bandanas, as well as Bouquets of Hope Christmas ornaments and lavender sachets and, note cards featuring art created by the children of its Camp Love & Learn summer program.

“Social enterprises provide an opportunity for clients of our various programs to earn a fair wage, while being provided with opportunities for training and the development of interpersonal skills. It also provides our clients with the opportunity to build a demonstrated work history,” said Mike Allen, President and CEO of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee. “An aspect of this program also helps clients to transition into the marketplace and we are particularly excited by the potential that the fulfillment training offers, here in Memphis – the distribution capital of the world! In fact, we are using FedEx Ground and Smart Post® to fulfill the orders!” said Allen.

All net proceeds are reinvested back into the CCWTN Genesis House and Camp Love & Learn programs as well as the Bouquets of Hope ministry to nursing homes.
