STOKE-ON-TRENT, U.K. - Sept. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- On the 30th April 1980, terrorists stormed the Iranian embassy in London and took twenty-six people hostage. Six days later, millions watched on live television as the SAS stormed the building in a dramatic rescue. What is less well known is that just a few days before, the Iranian Charge d'Affaires wrote to the Metropolitan Police's Diplomatic Protection Group. The letter requested additional security. Ironically, Chief Superintendent Bromley's response, assuring the Iranians that security was adequate, arrived the day before the terrorist attack.

Drawing on extensive research, Operation Nimrod dispels the myths and reveals the truth of those six long days, and the dramatic rescue that thrust the SAS into the public eye.

Released in paperback, ebook, audio book, and Android app on 5th October.

Author Russell Phillips said: "I was ten years old when the siege started. I remember being confused at the sight of soldiers with guns entering a building in London. It all seemed so unreal. I've been interested in it ever since, so the research was fascinating."
