The Inaugural Josie Music Awards Lit Up Nashville!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Oct. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- This red carpet event dedicated to celebrating independent music artists may have been the largest ever seen with over 1,000 attendees filling the events thoughout the day. This grand, gala day of events held on September 27, 2015 at The Springs owned by The Gaylord Opryland started with a red carpet entrance and finished with an after party, was created by the owners of The Josie Show and Country Blast Radio (Josie & Tina Passantino).  Joining them also was Associate Producer, Alan Firestone.  The growth of this event during the planning process increased so dramatically the owners had to split the days events into a matinee and an evening show.

There were a total of 54 categories awarded in many genres and 632 total category nominations (many artists receiving multiple nominations).  The day's events also included 43 live performances from multiple genres.  Including some performances from the Junior and Young Adult categories. All original artist music continually filled the air between award presentations.  This was a No Voting event, winners where chosen by various music industry leaders. Hightlights of the day's events included the Lifetime Musical Achievement award presented to Mr. Razzy Bailey, who was in attendance and received a standing ovation as he accepting his award presented to him by Josie Passantino and Kenny Lee.  The first 2015 Josie Show Humanitarian Award was presented to the Richard Lynch team for their work with the Love Tattoo Foundation.  During the after party a unique moonshine can guitar was raffled off to one lucky winner in the crowd.  The blood moon also made an appearance outside to be seen on the beautiful balconies that surrounded this great venue.  Every piece of this day's events was unique including the fan/family participation.  Prior to the event fans and family were asked to send in a little note about their favorite artists and many of those touching messages were read to the crowd during the award show.

This award show team thought of everything to make this day's events special and memorable for the nominees.  We spoke with Josie Passantino and here is what she had to say, "Our whole goal of these events were to make sure each artist could feel how loved and appreciated they were for all the hard work they put in to give us great music we can all enjoy in our daily lives.  After playing music from these artists over the past 7 years and speaking to many of them in my show interviews over the years, meeting them was like a big reunion in a very very large family.  That venue was filled with a lot of love and quite honestly that was probably the best day of my life."  We asked Josie and Tina if there will be another award show next year and this is what they had to say, "OH YES!  We are currently looking at larger facilities that would be incredible places to play in, not just any auditorium will do.  We will make some changes to the next show from our learning experiences this year, which will include having just ONE large show, guest presenters, and so much more.  We will offer even more than we did this year."
