IES Brain Research Foundation's Lunch and Learn Benefits Student Fellowship Program

SPARTA, N.J. - Oct. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- The Irene & Eric Simon (IES) Brain Research Foundation is holding a Lunch and Learn, hosted by Blank Rome LLP, at the Chrysler Building in New York City on Wednesday, October 14th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event showcases the outstanding student fellows and their neuroscientist mentors.

They include professors from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Weill Cornell Medical College, University of Kentucky and New York University of Medicine, speaking on topics including chronic stress and anxiety, Alzheimer s disease, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Chronic Neuropathic Pain, and Fragile X Syndrome.

“I am humbled with the opportunity to share the impact that brain cancer has had on my life,” said Robert M. Long, this year’s guest speaker, who will be sharing his personal story on his inspirational fight with brain cancer. “I am also eager to hear from some of the best minds in neuroscience.”

A donation of $100 per person is suggested for the event. Additionally, any and all donations are welcome from those who are unable to attend the event.

There is also the opportunity to sponsor a 2016 fellowship for $2,500. Donors can request that a name of someone to honor or remember, or a business name, be attached, and can also include the preferred area of neuroscience/brain disease the fellowship will be earmarked.

Due to limited space and for security purposes, please RSVP by October 7th. Those names will be added to a security list, so be sure to bring a photo ID to show at the door. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
