Sept. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Hard work. Dedication. Distinctive Services. Strong leadership. These are just a few of the qualities that have helped NSA Architects, Engineers, Planners (http://www.nsa-ae.com/) grow into a thriving firm over the last 55 years.

Originally known as Nordstrom Samson Associates, NSA began as a partnership between architect Richard Nordstrom and structural engineer Edward Samson. The Farmington Hills-based company has evolved into a full-service architectural and engineering firm since its founding in 1960.

“We provide our clients with a wide range of experience and a proven track record,” said NSA President and CEO Frank Ray, AIA. “A Principal-in-Charge oversees each project, working directly with the client and a dedicated project team throughout the entire process. We use state-of-the-art technology to provide the most prudent economical engineering and architectural solutions.”

Much of the company’s success can be attributed to broadening the scope of its engineering services, obtaining ISO 9000 certification, and strategically branching out to clients throughout the Midwest. NSA was awarded an honorable mention by the Engineering Society of Detroit for its efforts to design a responsible, sustainable facility that’s highly functional, yet employee-friendly with amenities like a sheltered patio, a park-like lawn, other landscaped areas, and a plaza.

“We designed the facility with ‘green’ technologies in mind,” Ray added.  He said the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit organization recognized in the industry as setting the standards for building sustainability, awarded SHAP a gold LEED certification.

NSA specializes in vertical infrastructure, meaning its work focuses on development of a building from the ground up. Consistent investment in new technology such as computer software makes the building process, from planning to execution, seamless.

“Every project brings its own unique set of challenges,” Ray said. “The best way to meet those challenges is to keep the lines of communications flowing between the client, us and our strategic partners.”
