BEDMINSTER, N.J. - Sept. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art is excited to announce a new partnership with RideWise, a Somerset County non-profit that , “keeps seniors and individuals with disabilities connected to friends, family and the community” by providing transportation for individuals who don’t drive or choose not to drive. This pilot program is designed to provide transportation for The Center’s Senior Members to and from fall art classes for the RideWise member rate of $3.00 per mile. In turn, RideWise members can enroll in The Center’s fall classes at the reduced tuition rate normally reserved for its members.

The Center for Contemporary Art enriches the community with art through a variety of outreach initiatives and is committed to making sure that its programs are accessible to every student.  The Center’s Art for Children with ASD and Other Special Needs Class offers an invaluable avenue of self-expression for children with limited or no verbal communication. Monthly creative workshops are offered for non-artists affected by cancer, including patients and caregivers through a collaboration with the Cancer Support Community of Central New Jersey and monthly workshops take place for adults with disabilities at the Midland School. The Center’s ceramics studio contains a wheelchair accessible pottery wheel for students in wheelchairs or with back problems who require an upright position. The Center is fully accessible and barrier-free.
