Colonial Courtyard at Bedford to celebrate Active Aging Week

BEDFORD, Pa. - Sept. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Colonial Courtyard at Bedford encourages its seniors to dream big throughout the year. That phrase will take on added significance during Active Aging Week 2015.

    The theme of this year’s Active Aging Week is “Live Your Adventure.” Colonial Courtyard at Bedford will add the words “Dream Big” to the message.

    The International Council on Active Aging leads Active Aging Week, which celebrates aging and active living. Each year event organizers engage participants in wellness activities in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere. Active Aging Week 2015 is from September 27 through October 3.

    “The theme for this year is ‘Live your Adventure.’ I encourage you, get up, get out of that chair and start living your adventure, no matter what that may be,” said Colin Milner, the CEO of the International Council on Active Aging, in a video clip on the organization’s website. “We hope to see you out there September 27 to October 3.”

    Colonial Courtyard at Bedford has scheduled a busy week:

·         Monday, September 28: “Living the Dream – Rekindling the Love of the Past, Present and Future,” will hold a vow renewal for all couples, 1:30 p.m. in the activity lounge with a cake reception to follow.

·         Tuesday, September 29: “Living the Adventure – Technology of Today and Video in Progress, Take One,” will introduce video technology and illustrate how to make a video clip, 11:30 a.m. in the dining room.

·         Wednesday, September 30: “Take Flight for Live Your Adventure,” will include a tour of the Bedford County Airport, 1:30 p.m.

·         Thursday, October 1: “Healthy Living Adventure,” will feature Silver Sneakers-certified Sharon Hine, who will present a healthy exercise and snack program, 10:45 a.m., activity lounge.

·         Friday, October 2: “Now Showing – Living the Adventure,” will be the premiere of “Colonial Courtyard at Bedford 2015 Living the Adventure,” 1:30 p.m., theater room.

·         Saturday, October 3: “Living the Dream Adventure on Your Bucket List,” will include games and activities, 1:30 p.m., front lobby; “Saturday Afternoon Movie – The Bucket List,” starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, 2 p.m., theater room.
