KENT, Ohio - Sept. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Jonathan Englehardt, a 2015 Entrepreneurship graduate of Kent State University, launched his company Home Instead Senior Care on Jan. 1, 2015 while taking Professor Craig Zamary’s Entrepreneur Experience II and Entrepreneurial Practicum class at Kent State.

Home Instead Senior Care is the world’s leading provider of non-medical care for seniors according to Franchise Business Review. The company is ranked #63 on Entrepreneur.com’s Top Franchise 500 list for 2015. Jonathan and his parents own and operate the Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Massillon, Ohio.

Jonathan got the idea for his company when his grandfather, Donald Engelhardt, who was a World War II veteran, passed away from Alzheimer’s in October of 2014. “The long downward struggle my grandfather faced was the driving force behind my family’s path in business,” said Jonathan.  After Jonathan graduated in the spring of 2015, he worked full time in the office of Home Instead Senior Care as general manager. “I was very pleased to be able to transfer all the knowledge I gathered from my Entrepreneurship major into the real world of owning a business.”

Zamary invited Jonathan back to the College of Business Administration to speak to his Experience Class about the success of Home Instead Senior Care nine months after the company’s launch, and Jonathan already had over 20 employees. “We are extremely proud of Jonathan and the work he has done and continues to do to build his company,” said Zamary. “The students were inspired to hear his story. He is definitely an entrepreneur to watch and we are proud to have him as an alumnus of Kent State University.”
