Local author, Robert A. Musson, will be available to sign copies of book

A resurgence of Cleveland’s local breweries is in full swing today with the emergence of popular brewpubs and microbreweries.  Brewing in Cleveland is a history of the industry that was reborn in 1933 after the Prohibition. Arcadia Publishing’s Images of America series, Brewing in Cleveland features over 200 vintage images and explores this history of beer brewing. Brewing in Cleveland features the buildings and equipment, owners and employees, along with the advertisements and delivery vehicles of Cleveland’s local breweries.

About the Author:

Robert A. Musson, M.D. is a native of Akron, Ohio, thirty miles to the south of Cleveland. After graduating from the University of Akron, he spent four years in Columbus at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Despite his training in primary care medicine, he currently has a medical practice which specializes entirely in vascular disease. Aside from his medical practice, he is an avid collector of Ohio brewery artifacts, a hobby which began in 1976 at the age of thirteen. After collecting over 8,000 beer cans, he turned his attention to the history behind the breweries, and eventually a writing career was born. Musson self-published the books Brewing Beer In The Rubber City in 1997, Varicose Veins and Spider Veins: Myths and Realities in 2001, and Brewing Beer In The Buckeye State, Volume I, in 2004. He continues to research breweries in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to this day.
