Sept. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Fairfax, VA – September 28, 2015 This fall, Oprah Winfrey presents the landmark television event “Belief,” a week-long documentary series airing over seven consecutive nights that depicts how people with a wide range of beliefs search for deeper meaning and connection with the world around them. The series will premiere on Sunday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

The SOAR Community Network was selected by Values Partnership and the Belief Team Community Managers as an OWN Belief Team Partner. The global mission of Belief Team members is to help foster community dialogue on belief, compassion, hope and healing.

On October 18, 2015 from 5:30 - 9:30 pm, the SOAR Community Network will be hosting a live event with this very mission and commitment in mind. “A Night to Believe” is being co-sponsored by the African and African American Studies, Women and Gender Studies, and Center for the Advancement of Well-Being at George Mason University.

“A Night to Believe” will take place at The Hub (http://info.gmu.edu/studentunioninfo.html), 4400 Rivanna River Ln, Fairfax, VA 22030, on the George Mason University Campus. The evening’s agenda will include speakers such as Maimah Karmo, Founder of Tigerlily Foundation, Carman Vargas and Paula Reyes of Chantilly Youth Foundation and Sharmila Karamchandani, lead trainer and teacher of entrepreneurship at Empowered Women International (EWI).

Yala Fitness with Lifestyle and Fitness expert, Laurent Amzallag, is sponsoring the “Motivation in Movement” Moment. The panel will include spiritual leaders throughout the Washington, DC area. Sister Jenna of the Meditation Museum, Rabbi Bonny Grosz, Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael, Richa Badami, and Ven. Noumay Siriphounsavat will be on hand to share their wisdom.
