Follow on Google News | ORRA’s Braille Pendant Celebrates the Visually ChallengedBy: ORRA ORRA’s Mantrasiddhi collection draws inspiration from the power of the holy mantras. The chanting of mantras exudes a positive aura and brings the wearer a sense of calm. The objects around the chanter absorb the positive aura of the mantras and reverberate the same. The Mantrasiddhi collection features 10 exquisitely crafted pendants in 18kt gold and platinum, embellished with precious stones and a mantra etched to invoke the blessings of each deity. The pendants take the form of four gods- Ganesha, Krishna, Shiva and Surya. The collection is priced at Rs.17500 onwards. ORRA takes its love for innovation to the next level by designing a pendant- “Shruti Ganesha” with the mantra OM delicately etched in Braille. The Shruti Ganesha is a one of a kind creation, never made before by any jeweller. Jewellery is always made keeping in mind the most recent trends, but what about those who can’t see and experience these trends? The Shurti Ganesha is a tribute from ORRA to a section of society that’s sadly been ignored by mainstream. While working on the Mantrasiddhi concept, the head designer got the idea en-route her daily commute to work as she would drive by the National Association for the Blind (NAB). The concept behind the Braille pendant was to give the visually challenged a piece of jewellery that’s not just Spiritual but something they can connect to at a more personal level. The production of the Shurti Ganeha pendant was a challenging process as it went through multiple stages of designing and quality control to ensure the Braille was correctly etched. Mr. Vijay Jain, CEO, ORRA adds about the collection, “The Mantras have a great significance, while they can be said verbally and seen visually they resonate in the mind. Chanting mantras helps the visually impaired come closer to God; it helps them build a special Spiritual bond, and taking forward this ideology ORRA etched the mantras in Braille.” It’s a misconception that the visually challenged are dependable on others for leading a normal life. ORRA with the help of National Association for the Blind created a special video which celebrates the visually impaired, which beautifully weaves the story of the lives of 4 kids who have not let their lack of sight affect their vision in life. As Hellen Keller, the first deaf-blind American to earn a masters degree of arts rightly said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” These kids go to regular schools, play the same games, love the same food and have the same dreams like any child their age. Mansi is a beautiful trained singer and a pro at Abacus. Krishna is an international level Taekwando silver medalist having won against normal competitors and loves dancing. Taneesh the youngest of the four kids loves watching Chota Bheem like all children his age and loves pizza more than veggies. Sushant loves reading and chants the Mantras so beautifully, it will leave you awestruck. Vijay Jain speaks about this extremely special video, “It was a sheer delight seeing these kids just be themselves and share their life with ORRA. We are extremely happy that the pendant was well received by the teacher and the kids. Mansi took the Shruti Ganesha pendant in her hands and read out the Braille mantra and said she would definitely love to wear a pendant like that.” ORRA’s Mantrasiddhi collection is now available across ORRA’s stores and on its website www.orra.co.in. Each pendant in the collection comes in a beautifully handcrafted box with a pothi which details out the significance of each of the Mantras and pendants.
