PCFerret Announces Major Update to Their Award-Winning Tools For Finding Hidden Data

PCFerret has added full Windows 10 compatibility along with new and updated features to their latest software release, including the ability to read the cache files of Microsoft’s latest browser, Edge.
BOTHELL, Wash. - Sept. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Among the features is one which is believed to be an industry first: the ability to uninstall the program from within itself. Ken Haynes, the project’s manager said, “We built-in the Clean Uninstall feature so that people could use PCFerret without it being obvious to other computer users, which is useful if you are trying to detect any nefarious activity on the PC without others knowing.”

PCFerret allows the user to discover video and image files found in browser caches and to extract URLs from browser caches which allows the user to see which websites have been visited or referenced.

It also allows the user to search for files which have accidentally had their file suffix changed, or when someone has intentionally changed the suffix in order to hide the data. Among other files, PCFerret can find video, image, PDF and Microsoft Office Suite files.

Other areas of PCFerret have been updated, including the Internet Explorer Cached URLs and Browser Media search tools. PCFerret is aimed at both professional and novice PC users.
