Philly's Men Are Cookin' To Ad "Muscle" to 23rd Annual Event in Philadelphia
Oct. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Philadelphia, PA-- Philly's Men Are Cookin' is adding some muscle to the menu this year... muscle cars, that is! The 23rd annual event will take place on Saturday, November 14th, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., inside The Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, located at 6825 Norwich Drive in Southwest Philadelphia (http://www.simeonemuseum.org). Assembled over 50 years by Dr. Frederick Simeone, the Museum contains over 65 historically significant cars including, but not limited to: Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Mercedes, Jaguar, Bentley, Porsche, Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford and more. “With this being our 23rd year for Philly’s Men Are Cookin', we really wanted to spice things up a bit,” says event chair Lyvette Jones. “The Simeone Museum collection is incredible and creates a nice ambiance for our guests to chat, chew, and view!” In addition to fast cars, Philly's Men Are Cookin' also showcases the culinary talents of local male celebrities, and other male volunteers, who prepare and serve their personal signature dishes for attendees to enjoy.  More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the city's premiere event featuring great networking, fabulous entertainment, and delicious food benefitting Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Theta Omega Chapter's non-profit arm The Ivy Legacy Foundation. “Philly’s Men Are Cookin' has been our signature fundraising event,” says Lynne Washington, President of The Ivy Legacy Foundation. “Money raised from this one night will literally fuel our engines for the upcoming year and allow us to continue making a difference in the greater Philadelphia community we serve.”

The mission of The Ivy Legacy Foundation is to raise funds to support our key initiatives including Educational Enrichment, : Health Promotion,  Family Strengthening,  Environmental Ownership and  Global Impact The foundation of these programs is to provide scholarship dollars for college-bound students. Since it was founded in 1995, more than $277,000 in scholarships has been awarded to Philadelphia area students. Significant contributions have also been made in support of charities and community-based organizations in Philadelphia serving the tremendous needs that exists among our local population. Some of the charitable organizations supported by The Ivy Legacy Foundation include the ASCEND Mentoring Program, Emerging Young Leaders, Girls Inc, the Alzheimer's Association, and Philabundance.
