Hodges University Center For Nonprofit Excellence Introduces October Workshops

NAPLES, Fla. - Sept. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- The Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is hosting three workshops in October. Workshops can be attended on a one-time basis or to obtain a non-credit certificate in Governance, Management and Operations by attending a series of four workshops in the same category.

The “Develop Yourself and Your Team” workshop will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. This interactive workshop is an overview for new managers and supervisors, focusing on the difference between managing and leading, team development and the role and responsibilities in achieving success. The workshop is $35 and will be held in Building H on the Fort Myers campus – 4501 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33966.

The “Special Events: Auctions & Technology” workshop, taking place on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., is designed for individuals who host auctions and will address what to look for when hiring a professional auctioneer. Participants will hear auctioneer success stories and struggles from an expert nonprofit panel. Participants will also learn from those who have used several different technology companies for their auctions. The registration fee is $35. Association of Fundraising Professionals members may attend at no cost but must register in advance. The workshop will be held in the Stock Building on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples, FL 34119.

“Board Governance as Effective Leadership” is a full-day workshop, taking place on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Board roles and responsibilities will be addressed, as well as challenges in recruiting the right board members and key roles in fundraising. Interactive exercises will focus on necessary improvements to take nonprofits to the next level of success. Attendees will also learn the latest trends affecting nonprofits. It is highly recommended that CEOs or top management of organizations attend. Most benefit will be seen if three board members are present as well. The registration fee is $75 and will include breakfast and lunch. The workshop will take place in the Stock Building on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples FL 34119.
