UPMINSTER, U.K. - Sept. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- The Supply Chain Academy (SCA) has significantly expanded its education portfolio after completing the acquisition of CP Training Consortium, bringing a new expertise in training middle management and senior staff.

This is a big step forward in business education and training and a major expansion of the SCA’s offering to organisations’ supply chain capabilities.

The Supply Chain Academy currently provides thought leadership and learning events for executives and leaders and through CP Training, will now also provide a unique educational experience for middle managers and staff - training in core supply chain management subjects, as well as coaching and consultancy, leadership, management, HR and personal development, for aspiring, new and middle managers and bridging the gap between executive education and staff development.

Paul Stone, People Development Director comments “The  Supply Chain Academy can now begin to realise our long term goal of increasing skills and supply chain expertise at all levels of management in the UK and exporting that UK expertise globally, adding to the high level, knowledge-based information and thought-sharing for executives that we already offer.”

Steve Booy, Managing Director of CP Training Consortium adds “Joining the Supply Chain Academy initiates a major business growth opportunity for us and our trainers. We will continue to support our international clients with our specialist skills training courses,  and are now able to offer them a wider portfolio of learning solutions with the Academy’s educational capabilities and master-classes.  Together, we can now promote these learning initiatives into new markets and sectors across the UK and worldwide”

The CP Training Consortium was initially formed to provide Contracting and Procurement (CP) training to Shell International. Since 2000, their client network has expanded globally year-on-year, and now includes blue-chip companies from a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, construction and utilities.  The Consortium focuses on delivering specialist short courses through applied learning approaches that enhance the skills of staff and in their ability to operate more effectively in their roles.

The CP Training management team, Geoff Begley (founder) and Steve Booy (Managing Director), in conjunction with Paul Stone (People Development Director, SCA) and Alex Mortimer (Commercial Director, SCA) will continue to manage the Company, but with the backing of the Supply Chain Academy, will provide an expanded portfolio of courses, not only to their global client base, but also to managers in the UK. As a combined force, the new team will provide Great British education internationally, through face-to-face, on-line and distance learning, made in the UK, for business worldwide.

Geoff Begley, has over 35 years’ experience in and understanding of shipping, project materials management, warehouse and yard operations and procurement. At Shell International he managed the development of the comprehensive suite of Supply Chain training programmes that are still in place within the Shell Group.

Steve Booy, Joined CP Training over 12 years ago, initially as freelance trainer, then as Director of Faculty & Operations before taking on the role of Managing Director in 2012.  He too has extensive managerial and global training experience spanning more than 30 years, in the public and private sectors, including positions as General Manager; Operations Director; Finance Director; and Strategic Consultant.
