Crowne Plaza Ahmedabad City Centre celebrates ‘Race Around the World’ with ‘Design Your Own Cake’ bakery workshop with 30 underprivileged kids aged 11 to 14 years from two municipal schools near Ramdevnagar.

After a warm welcome by the leadership team, the students were given a brief introduction about the concept of ‘Race Around the World’. Executive Sous Chef Yash Thakur, Sous Chef Pradeep along with MasterChef Nikita Gandhi interacted with the kids and gave tips to design their cakes. Post the interaction the kids were divided in group of five and given the task to decorate their cakes like Cake Sponge, Cup Cakes and other decorative ingredients which will make their cake look creative and decorative.

On this occasion, Prachika Saxena, Director – Human Resources expressed, “We at IHG passionately wish to contribute towards the growth of younger generation. One of the ideas was to utilise our expertise in running culinary lessons for municipal school kids. It’s all about creating sustainability in the society. Food in India has always been a welcome option. Watching the kids learn about food as they curiously discovered new tastes and techniques was the highlight of the session. The energy all of them exuded was infectious and we wish to continue holding more such interactions to develop their passion in this field.”

Post the activity, kids shared their feedback which was put up at the lobby. The decorated cakes were kept for display at eSsence Restaurant and kids were gifted souvenirs by the property.
