Cost: $15 reserved / $13 general admission

10 Miles of Bad Road

10 Miles of Bad Road, recorded at Ultratone Studios in Studio City, CA with Grammy-winning producer Tony Braunagel is a powerful mix of contemporary blues, roots and soul.  The 13 tracks include 12 all new, original songs written by Lovely, Dave Fleschner, Vyasa Dodson, Alan Mirikitani and Dennis Walker. The title track was inspired by award-winning vocalist/songwriter/harmonica icon Curtis Salgado, who also shares songwriting credits with Lovely and Dave Fleschner. The music is a powerful mix of original contemporary blues, roots and soul.

“Although Lucky Girl and Still the Rain were very successful, this time I wanted to do a record the way I envisioned with no agenda” relates Karen Lovely. “I like to sing tunes I can sink my heart and teeth into, songs with stories - that make you laugh, cry, shake your fist in the sky...songs you'll want to sing along with and keep singing...in the car, the house, the shower...everywhere.” “I love the blues - raw, swampy blues with nasty grooves, swing, shuffles, sweet Memphis soul, R&B - this record has all that with original tunes penned by some of the best contemporary blues songwriters in the business.”

Karen Lovely began singing the blues professionally in September 2007. Her records "Lucky Girl" (November 2008) and "Still the Rain" (March 2010) topped the blues and roots charts and went to #1 on XM Radio's B.B. King's Bluesville's "Pick to Click" list.
