SGRF and CCMB organises “Hands-on Nextgen Sequencing & Bioinformatics Workshop” at Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, India - Sept. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Hyderabad, September 24, 2015: SciGenom Research Foundation (SGRF) and its co-hosts- Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), and Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB)inaugurated a “Hands-on Nextgen Sequencing & Bioinformatics Workshop” today at CCMB, Hyderabad. The workshop will run till 30^th September 2015.

The work shop was inaugurated by Dr Ch Mohan Rao, the Director of CCMB.

Mr Sam Santhosh, the Managing Trusty of SGRF (SciGenom Research Foundation),         a          non-profit organization working to promote science in India through education and research and CEO of MedGenome, the leader in genomics-based diagnostics and research in India,addressed the participants of the workshop.

As part of the address, Mr Sam Santhosh announced the 2015 NextGen Genomics, Biology, Bioinformatics and Technologies (NGBT) Conference at HICC in  Hyderabad, India from the 1^st to 3^rd of October,2015. NGBT Conference is jointly organised by SciGenom Research Foundation (SGRF) and its co-hosts- Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), and Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB)

This year’s meeting encompass twelve key note lecturers with a spectrum of expertise from Genomics to structural biology to plant genomics and oncogenic signalling.

This meeting will provide an ideal avenue for fostering ties between the academia and industry and serve to educate and inspire the next generation of scholars with lectures from stellar scientists coming from several parts of the world.

This is the Fifth edition of the international conference. The previous ones were at NIMHANS – Bangalore, IITM – Chennai, IGIB – Delhi and RGCB – Trivandrum.  The 2014 NGBT at Bangalore saw participation from 500+ delegates with presentations from more than 80 speakers – international and national. Hyderabad, home to Genome Valley, India’s first biotech cluster for biotech research, training, collaboration and manufacturing activities, and with an established presence of several global and Indian biotechnology companies, is expected to provide the most dynamic atmosphere for the conference proceedings.

Young scientists will get an opportunity to obtain career advice as well as interact with prospective employers as part of this job fair.
