Follow on Google News | McCarthy Building Companies' VP Recognized by Two “Under 40” AwardsJoseph Jouvenal Named to ENR Texas and Louisiana's 20 Under 40 and Building Design + Construction’s 40 Under 40
By: McCarthy Building Companies Jouvenal has been a part of the McCarthy team for 16 years and currently supervises operations on project sites in the healthcare, science, technology and federal sectors. He also assists with project preconstruction strategies while also serving as the client interface. McCarthy executives recognized his skills and talent early on in his career and invited him to join 20 other employees for McCarthy’s Advanced Leadership Program – an internal, year-long training program, which immerses a select group of employees into the company’s national operations to gain a broader picture and better understanding of McCarthy’s overall business structure. Since joining McCarthy in 1998 as a project engineer, Jouvenal has been promoted five times. He has worked as a part of the Texas Division’s leadership team helping to oversee high-profile projects including the $648 million William Beaumont Fort Bliss Replacement Hospital in El Paso and the $536 million Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Replacement hospital in Fort Hood. Jouvenal also worked on one of McCarthy’s more challenging projects, a $167 million Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention high containment lab project in Atlanta. Jouvenal is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional. Additionally, he completed the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Advanced Management Program in 2007 to continue his business education. He earned his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Jouvenal is an active member of his community, spending more than 100 hours a year volunteering with organizations such as Mi Escuelita Preschool and the American Heart Association.
