Remeha celebrates 80th anniversary

Sept. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Leading manufacturer Remeha is celebrating 80 years as a manufacturer and supplier of high performance heating technology.

Founded in Holland in 1935 by Gerard van Reekum, who saw a market for central heating products, Remeha has grown into an international company with a Dutch headquarters in Apeldoorn and a UK head office in Wokingham. Remeha is part of the global BDR Thermea Group with offices in over 70 countries and annual sales of €1.8 billion.

In the UK, Remeha Commercial leads the commercial market with its fully-integrated, high-efficiency heating and hot water systems. These include the Remeha family of energy-efficient, low-NOx condensing boilers with individual outputs from 8.9 to 1303 kW, ground-breaking full-time condensing boilers incorporating passive flue gas heat recovery devices, and high performance renewable solutions including gas absorption heat pumps and a CHP range from 20 to 2,000 kWe, all designed to help the UK slow climate change, reduce energy costs and improve energy security.

Throughout its 80 year history, Remeha has helped shape the development of today’s industry, setting the standard with a series of firsts.

·         Pioneer of condensing technology - Following the energy crisis of the 1970s, Remeha pioneered the development of condensing boiler technology, now accepted as the most efficient form of boiler. The UK’s first commercial condensing boiler which was introduced into Watson House, the British Gas testing centre, in 1983 was manufactured and supplied by Remeha. This was followed the next year by more Remeha condensing boilers installed within the London Borough of Merton

·         First manufacturer to introduce commercial wall-hung pre-mixed condensing boilers

·         First manufacturer to introduce commercial pre-mixed room sealed boilers up to 1300kW
