New Jersey Choral Society presents Bel Canto

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. - Sept. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Bergen County – The New Jersey Choral Society will present its spectacular 6th annual fundraising gala “Bel Canto” on Sunday, October 4 at 4:00 pm at the Indian Trail Club, 830 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ.

The theme of the event - “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!” - takes its cue from the jazz era of the 1920s and ‘30s. Hosted by Broadway performers, Britt and David Cryer, the festive evening features music by composers such as Gershwin, Porter and Ellington, sung by the talented members of the New Jersey Choral Society under the direction of conductor Eric Dale Knapp. Musical selections include “Fascinating Rhythm”, “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” and “Someone to Watch Over Me”. Linda Sweetman-Waters will accompany on the piano and guest dancers will be Jennifer and Tony Landa.

The musical fundraising gala will include a cocktail hour followed by dinner and wine, as well as a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. The New Jersey Choral Society is proud to contribute 15% of the evening's silent auction proceeds to support The Tyler Clementi Foundation. Tickets for this special fundraising event are $100 and can be purchased by visiting www.njcs.org or via email at belcanto@njcs.org.

Celebrating its 36th season, the New Jersey Choral Society is one of the state’s most prestigious choral groups, well-known for presenting memorable and uplifting performances that engage audiences, involving youth, enabling affordable access to the arts, and supporting various outreach organizations of northern New Jersey. NJCS performs three major concerts annually in Bergen and Essex counties and has also performed in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, China, Australia, England and, most recently, in France.
