Follow on Google News | The Oldest and Largest African-American Bar Association in California to Honor Legal Minds!The 24th Annual John M. Langston Bar Association Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in Los Angeles next month and will honor five (5) community-invested legal minds.

Langston Bar Association “Each year we select honorees based upon their tenure of service, involvement within the community, and how they contribute back to Langston throughout their careers” said Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson Michele Anderson, Esq. “This group really has assisted our local legal culture. For example, Robert McNeill was a legal commentator during the O.J. Simpson criminal trial. Hon. Bob Bowers has been recognized by Boy Scouts of America, William Hastie led the first successful litigation to force the integration of a San Francisco fire department in the early 1970s, Katie Trotter has done 100+ jury trials with eight special circumstance cases, and Hon. H. Elizabeth Harris has been featured on the television show “48 Hours.” The John M. Langston Bar Association is the oldest and largest African-American bar association in California and is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. Langston is also an affiliate of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, National Bar Association, California Association of Black Lawyers, and Multicultural Bar Alliance. Each year, Langston carries out many programs and activities, including providing substantial scholarships to law students, continuing legal education for attorneys, free bar exam tutorials, attorney job fairs, mentoring programs for law students and young attorneys, judicial officer candidate evaluations, networking events, pro bono legal services, and high school education programs.
