Follow on Google News | Dr. Eric Leonhardt Joins SalusCareBy: SalusCare, Inc. Dr. Leonhardt will see patients with appointments at the Ortiz Campus at 2789 Ortiz Ave. in Fort Myers and the Cape Coral Campus at 1105 Cultural Park Boulevard. Dr. Leonhardt is part of SalusCare’s expansion of children’s outpatient behavioral health treatment, enabling the non-profit to treat more children and adolescents and reduce wait times for appointments. He is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo. This was followed by a residency and internship in general psychiatry at the Henry Ford Hospital Department of Psychiatry in Detroit, Mich., and a Fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. Dr. Leonhardt has worked as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at AltaPointe Health Systems in Mobile, Ala., and Prairie St. Johns Hospital in Fargo, N.D. During his time at Prairie St. Johns Hospital, he was honored as the Medical Staff of the Year for two successive years. He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Alabama and is board-certified by both the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Leonhardt has extensive volunteer experience as a patient liaison with the Pitt County Community Hospital in Greenville, N.D., as well as volunteering with the Pitt County AIDS Coalition, Special Olympics and homeless health screenings. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association and the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. About SalusCare, Inc.
